Asupini Ella Falls A supini Ella Falls , also called Ahupini Ella (අහුපිනි ඇල්ල), is a waterfall cascading in Kandy District, Sri Lanka. The site can be reached by travelling through the Horewala-Deiyanwela road about 1.5 km distance from the Uduwella Bus Station. The fall is visible through the jungle. Etymology The name Asupini Ella is said to have evolved from "Asupitin Penna Ella" - the fall crossed over on horseback (Abeyawardana, 2002). The Falls The waterfall is about 10 m in height and originates on the upper course of the Maha Oya , a stream that flows through Mawanella, Rambukkana and enters the sea in the Negombo area (Abeyawardana, 2002; Kautzsch, 1983).
