Foul Point Lighthouse, built in 1863 at Trincomalee's southern entrance, was restored in 2019. It guides vessels safely along the coast.
Foul Point Lighthouse Foul Point Lighthouse or Sampur Lighthouse is one of the lighthouses in Sri Lanka. It is located on the point (Foul/ Kevuliya Point) at the southern entrance to the
Trincomalee harbor.
The lighthouse is said to be constructed in 1863. It is a round stone tower and 21 m tall. The tower was in a dilapidated state for many years and therefore, existed as an abandoned lighthouse until it was repaired/restored between 2018-2019.
