Pettigala (Kandy) | Place to Hike & Camping in Sri Lanka

Pettigala (Sinhala: පෙට්ටිගල, මහනුවර) is a mountain [673 m (2,208.01 ft. amsl)] situated near Victoria Reservoir in Teldeniya in Kandy District, Sri Lanka. Presently, this site has become a popular place for hiking. The trail which runs to the mountain falls through the ancient Buddhist temple, Bambaragala Raja Maha Viharaya . The journey usually takes about 30-45 mins to reach the top of the rock. A picturesque view of the Victoria Reservoir and many highlands can be obtained from the top of the rock.
