Nanu Oya Railway Station is one of the railway stations in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. Situated at 1,799 m (5902.23 ft.) above sea level, it is the 63rd station on the Colombo-Badulla line (mainline).
History
The railway station at Nanu Oya was built on 20 May 1885 as the terminus of the mainline (Abeyawardana, 2004). At the time it was the nearest railway station to Nuwara Eliya town. In 1904, two narrow gauge railway lines were established to link Nanu Oya to Nuwara Eliya and Ragala but they were abandoned later (Abeyawardana, 2004).
