Swarnathilakarama Viharaya, Randiwala

Swarnathilakarama Viharaya (Sinhala: රන්දිවල ස්වර්ණතිලකාරාම විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in Randiwala village in Kegalle District, Sri Lanka. History This temple is believed to have been established in 1598 and reconstructed in 1798 (De Silva & Chandrasekara, 2009). The  Dhamma discourse hall (the preaching hall) of this temple is about 400 years old ( De Silva & Chandrasekara, 2009 ). A protected site The ancient Buddha shrine, Dhamma discourse hall, pillar holes and the Sacred Footprint belonging to Randiwela Sri Swarnathilakarama Vihara premises in the Grama Niladhari Division of Randiwela, in Mawanella Divisional Secretary’s Division are  archaeological protected monuments, declared by a government gazette notification published on 6 June 2008.
