Magampura Ruhuna Heritage Museum (Photo credit: Google street view) The Magampura Ruhuna Heritage Museum in Hambantota, Magampura Museum (Sinhala: මාගම්පුර රුහුණ උරුම කෞතුකාගාරය) Sri Lanka is one of the Museums Administered by the Department of National Museums . History The museum has been established in an old Kachcheri building used as the District Secretariat of Hambantota during the British ruling period (1815-1948 A.D.). Leonard Woolf (1880-1969), the Government Agent for Hambantota from 1908 to 1911 used this as his secretariat.  The museum was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena on 8 May 2015.
