Polonnaruwa Siva Devale No. 3 Siva Devale No. 3 (Sinhala: පොළොන්නරුව ශිව දේවාලය අංක 3) is a ruined Hindu temple situated on the wayside of the Polonnaruwa-Hingurakgoda road near Naipena Viharaya in the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa , Sri Lanka.
History The construction date or the builder of this shrine is not known. However, it is believed to have been constructed during the Cola Period of Sri Lanka (1017-1070 A.D.). The temple The stone-built temple is confined to a small area of 34 yards by 22 yards and consists of three parts, viz; a quadrangle open Mandapa with a small portico attached to it on the front side, a vestibule and the square sanctum (Pathmanathan, 1999). The entrance porch to the shrine is located towards the east and two subordinate brick shrines are found lying to the northeast and southwest (Pathmanathan, 1999).
