The Agro Technology Park (Sinhala: බට අත කෘෂිතාක්ෂණ උද්‍යානය) at Bata Atha is located on Hambantota-Tangalle road near Kalametiya Lagoon in Hambantota District, Sri Lanka. It is the second Agrotechnology Park in the country besides the Gannoruwa Agro Technology Park. It is presently maintained under the National Agricultural Information and Communication Center of the Department of Agriculture. History To provide farmers with live crop demonstration knowledge on varieties and cultivation techniques recommended by the Department of Agriculture, the foundation stone for the Bata-atha agro-technology park was laid in 2006. After completion of the construction work, the park was declared open to the public in 2008. The park Spreading over an area of about 50 acres, the park consists of a number of information centres, museums, open arenas, auditoriums and sub-gardens demonstrating suitable cultivation practices of vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbal and spices growing in the area.
