Not to be confused with Attanagalla Viharaya (Gampaha) A ththanayala Sri Viharaya (Sinhala: අත්තනයාල ශ්‍රී විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in Attanayala village near Weeraketiya town in Hambantota District, Sri Lanka. History The history of this site is obscure. An old pond, several pillar hole marks and fragments of tiles are found scattered on the ground near the Bodhi tree of the temple. The entrance door to the inner chamber of the image house is marked with the date 2436 B.E. which corresponds to 1893 A.D. The old wooden furniture placed in front of the main seated statue of the image house is inscribed with the date 2449 B.E. (1906 A.D.).
