Gerandi Ella Falls, Ettampitiya: ~12 m waterfall on Uma Oya, popular bathing spot but dangerous — in 2022, five people died by drowning.
Gerandi Ella Falls (Ettampitiya) Not to be confused with Gerandi Ella Falls (Nuwara Eliya) G erandi Ella Falls (Sinhala: ඇටම්පිටිය ගැරඬි ඇල්ල) is a waterfalls located in the Ettampitiya area near Welimada in Badulla District, Sri Lanka. The site can be reached by travelling about four kilometers down the road, which turns inwards near the bus stand in Ettampitiya town on the Welimada-Badulla road. This waterfall, which is about twelve meters high, is created by the Uma Oya River. Although people use this place for bathing, precautions should be taken.
