Ratmalana Sri Pushparama Viharaya Sri Pushparama Viharaya (Sinhala: රත්මලාන ශ්රී පුෂ්පාරාම විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in Ratmalana in Colombo District, Sri Lanka. History The land where the present temple stands is said to be called in the past Mohottiwatta and it belonged to Don Cosmo Weerasekara, a commander of Don Juan Dharmapala (1550-1597 A.D.) of Kotte Kingdom (Rajapakshe et al., 2018). Later, Weerasekara donated it to build a Buddhist temple and the present Pushparama Viharaya was erected on this land accordingly (Rajapakshe et al., 2018). Monuments The Stupa , the image house, the Dhamma Salawa (the preaching hall), and the monks' dwelling are the main monuments of the temple. The two-storied image house shows architectural features of the period of British Ceylon (1815-1948 A.D.). Inside the image house are the sculptures and paintings of the Buddhist tradition.
