Bodhi-tree Shrine II, Abhayagiriya is a Bodhighara located on the premises of Abhayagiri Monastery, Anuradhapura. Its construction date is uncertain.
Second Samadhi Statue and Bodhigharaya II B odhi-tree Shrine II, Abhayagiriya , incorrectly but popularly identified as the Second Samadhi Buddha Statue (Sinhala: අභයගිරිය දෙවන සමාධි බුදු පිළිමය) is a Bodhigharaya (a Bodhi-tree shrine) located on the premises of Abhayagiri Monastery in Anuradhapura District, Sri Lanka. The date of construction of this monument is uncertain (Hettiaratchi & Kulatunge, 1993). A Buddha statue with broken hands is found in this Bodhigharaya . Evidence is not there to identify this statue as a Samadhi image (Wikramagamage, 2004). The hands of it, which are now missing, maybe in the Vitarka Mudra (argumentation gesture) as in the Pankuliya Buddha Statue (Jayasuriya, 2016). The style of execution suggests that this statue belongs to the period between the 6-8 centuries A.D.
