Kevulgama Dalada Gaman Viharaya

Kevulgama Sri Dalada Gaman Raja Maha Viharaya (Sinhala: කෙවුල්ගම දළදා ගමන් රජමහා විහාරය) Keulgama Viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated in Kevulgama village in Kandy District, Sri Lanka. History This temple has gained recognition due to the protection of the sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha for a short period of time during the 18th century (Abeyawardana, 2004; Rajapakse, 2016). The Tooth Relic which had been kept in Dalada Maligawa in Kandy was brought to this temple when the Dutch attacked Kandy in 1764 and 1765 (Raven, 2010). The cave temple The cave temple consists of two parts; the inner chamber and the outer chamber. Of them, the outer chamber preserves some old paintings (Rajapakse, 2016).
