Madulsima (Hike & Camping Site)

Madulsima is a mountainous village in Badulla, famed for its Mini World’s End escarpments, hiking, camping and sweeping valley views.

Madulsima (Sinhala: මඩොල්සිම) is a mountainous village situated in Badulla District of Sri Lanka. The area is popular among tourists for hiking and camping and the Madulsima Mini World’s End (1,355 m (4445.538 ft. amsl)] is one of their famous hiking spots.

History

The Mini World's End is located at the end of a tea plantation named Roeberry Estate near Passara. A panoramic view of Uva Province extending up to the Eastern Province can be obtained from the site. With a dangerous abyss, the highest part of the mountain [1,480 m (4855.64 ft. amsl)] belongs to Roeberry Estate while the lower part is to the Dorapoda.

The surrounding mountains are usually covered in mist. The views of Badulla, Passara, Monaragala, Senanayaka Samudraya, Mapakada Wewa, Ampara, Batticaloa, Sorabora Wewa, Ulhitiya Wewa, Mahiyanganaya, Nagadeepa Wewa, Karagahawela, Dehigala Division, Meegahakivula and Kandy can be obtained through the valley.
