Yasodara Devi Balika Maha Vidyalaya (Sinhala: යසෝදරා දේවි බාලිකා මහා විද්යාලය, ගම්පහ) is a government girls' school situated in Gampaha town, Sri Lanka.
History
The school was first established in 1905 as a Government English School and the classes were conducted through the bilingual medium. Under reorganization programs, the post-primary classes were taken to Bandaranayake Maha Vidyalaya in 1962.
In January 1963, the school was renamed Yasodara Devi Balika Maha Vidyalaya and S.W.Abesinghe was the first principal of the school from 1963 to 1977. At the initiation, there were classes for both boys and girls. In 1964 the school conducted classes for grade 9 and it was promoted to the state of a Maha Vidyalaya.
GCE O/L classes were begun at the school in 1969 and in 1984 it conducted its first GCE A/L examination for 123 students.
Facilities
At present, the school has common facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, playground, swimming pool, indoor stadium etc. Classes are conducted for girl students from grade 1 to grade 13.
