Anuradhapura Central College

Anuradhapura Central College (Sinhala: අනුරාධපුර මධ්‍ය විද්‍යාලය; Tamil: அனுராதபுரம் மத்திய கல்லூரி) is a government mixed school situated in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. History The school is one of the 54 Central Colleges established by C.W.W. Kannangara (1894-1969), the Minister of Education in the State Council (Wikramagamage, 2004). Originally erected in the Ratmale Tissa Vidyalaya premises, the school was later shifted to the army camp at Puliyankulama used during the 2nd World War (Wikramagamage, 2004). It was bought to the present premises after completion of a new building for the school of which construction works were started on 30 May 1950 (Wikramagamage, 2004). Facilities At present, the school has common facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, playground etc . Classes are conducted for both boy and girl students from grade 6 to grade 13.
