V.T. Nanayakkara Park

V.T. Nanayakkara Park (Sinhala: වී.ටී. නානායක්කාර උද්‍යානය) is a public garden situated near Fort MacDowall in Matale District, Sri Lanka.

History
The garden had been named Saxon park in commemoration of Saxon, the Assistant Government Agent from 1890 to 1899 (Abeyawardana, 2004). It was renamed later to honour V.T Nanayakkara who served as the principal of Vijaya Collage (1931-1947) and as the Member of Parliament for Matale from 1947 to 1952 (Abeyawardana, 2004).
