Taxila Central College, Horana
Horana Taxila Central College was established in 1905 and it was was upgraded to the state of a Central College in 1944.
Taxila Central College Horana Thakshila Central College (Sinhala: හොරණ තක්ෂිලා මධ්ය විද්යාලය) is a government mixed school situated in Horana town in Kalutara District, Sri Lanka. History This school was established in 1905 under the programme of opening of Buddhist schools that was taken place during the renaissance period of Buddhism and oriental studies in the early 20th century (Abeyawardana, 2002). The School was renamed as the Taxila in 1940 and was upgraded to a Central College in 1944 (Abeyawardana, 2002). Facilities At present, the school has common facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, playground etc . Classes are conducted for both boy and girl students from grade 6 to grade 13.
