R. C. de S. Manukulasooriya
R. C. de S. Manukulasooriya (Sinhala:ආර්.සී. ද එස්. මනුකුලසූරිය) (1919-2005) was a Sri Lankan scholar and the past President of the Royal Asiatic Society of Sri Lanka. Life events Born in 1919 to a family in Ambalangoda in Galle, Manukulasooriya had his primary education at Dharmasoka College in Ambalangoda and Mahinda College in Galle (Arunasiri, 2005). He entered the University College in 1939 and passed B.A. London Degree in 1942 (Arunasiri, 2005). In 1943, he joined the Public Service as a Divisional Revenue Officer and served at Kalutara, Galle, Morawakkorale and Siyanekorale (Arunasiri, 2005). In 1963 Manukulasooriya joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service and in 1965, he became the President of the Labour Tribunal in which position he served till his retirement in 1979 (Arunasiri, 2005).
