Ethamala Ella Falls (Sinhala: ඇතාමල ඇල්ල) is a waterfall near the Nil Ella tea factory near Morawaka town in Matara District, Sri Lanka.
Created by the Nilwala Ganga River, the fall is roughly 50 m in height. It consists of two levels or drops leading to a large natural rock pool basin which is unsuitable for bathing. It is said that the fall got its name from an elephant who died here after being swept along in the powerful water of the fall. With some imagination, it is possible to picture an elephant fatally slipping and falling into this fall.
At present, a small hydropower plant operates at the base of the waterfall.
