Randombe Sangharaja Viharaya Randombe Sangharaja Viharaya (Sinhala: රන්දොඹේ සංඝරාජ මහා විහාරය), is a Buddhist temple situated near Ambalangoda town in Galle District, Sri Lanka. History Locals link the history of this temple to Deva Pathiraja, a minister of King Parakramabahu II (1236-1270 A.D.). of Dambadeniya . It is believed that this temple was established by Deva Pathiraja in the Buddhist Year 1795 (1251 A.D.) under the instructions of Parakramabahu II. Although the image house of the temple has been repaired and renewed today, some of the inner walls still preserve fragments of ancient paintings believed to have been drawn in the latter half of the 19th century.
