Malagane Valagamba Viharaya Malagane Sri Valagamba Raja Maha Viharaya (Sinhala: මලගනේ ශ්රී වලගම්බා රජමහා විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in Malagane village in Kurunegala District, Sri Lanka. History Locals link the history of this temple to King Valagamba (103, 88-77 B.C.) of Anuradhapura and it is said that he converted this site into a Buddhist temple. The Nampota , an ancient Sinhalese text which is considered to have been compiled after the 14th century A.D. mentions Malagane as a temple in the Kurunegala area. The rock cave at the site has been converted into an image house during the Kandyan Period . The present Stupa is said to have been constructed in 1958.
