Thennaketiya Watta Ruins

Thennaketiya Watta Ruins (Sinhala: රළුව තැන්නකැටියවත්ත පුරාවිද්‍යා නටඹුන්) are scattered on a plot of land situated northwest of Bodhimaluwa Purana Viharaya in Raluwa village in Hambantota District, Sri Lanka.

The Ruins

The history related to this site is obscure. The ruins of a few ancient buildings along with the basement of a dilapidated Stupa mound are found there.

A Protected Site

The building ruins with the ancient stone pillars within the precincts called Raluwa Tanketiya Watte situated within the Grama Niladhari Division No. 536 - Raluwa in the Weeraketiya Divisional Secretary Division are archaeological protected monuments, declared by a government gazette notification published on 6 June 2008.
