A lahena Wewa , also known as Damana Wewa (Sinhala: අලහේන වැව, දමන වැව), is a reservoir situated in Damana in Ampara District, Sri Lanka. The ancient Aloka Rajamaha Viharaya is located about 600 m southwest of this reservoir. History This new reservoir was constructed in 1957-1959 by the Gal Oya Development Board (Arumugam 1969). The reservoir bund is about 4,300 ft. in length while it has a storage of 1,170 acre feet (Arumugam, 1969). The water extends over 250 acres at its full supply level (Arumugam, 1969).
