Eru Wewa Not to be confused with Erupothana Wewa E ru Wewa (Sinhala: ඒරු වැව) is a mediam size reservoir near Thirappane in Anuradhapura District, Sri Lanka. It is surrounded by Mahakanadarawa Wewa to the north, Nachchaduwa Wewa to the west, and Manankattiya Wewa and Hurulu Wewa to the east. History The reservoir is believed to have been built by damming the Malwathu Oya River during the middle part of the Anuradhapura Kingdom (Dissanayake, 2022). The Reservoir Eru Wewa is one of the reservoirs located in the Malwathu Oya River Basin. It is fed by its 13,882 hectares catchment. The present tank has one spill and two sluices.
