Passara Raja Maha Viharaya P assara Raja Maha Viharaya , also known as Pallegama Raja Maha Viharaya (Sinhala: පස්සර රජමහා විහාරය), is a Buddhiat temple situated in Pallegama village near Passara town in Badulla District, Sri Lanka. History The history of Passara Raja Maha Viharaya runs back to the period of the Kandyan Kingdom . The temple is said to have been established in 1788 and was patroned by King Sri Rajadhi Rajasinha (1781-1798 A.D.) and King Sri Vikrama Rajasinha (1798-1815 A.D.). Although there is no concreate evidence to prove, some link the history of this temple to the reign of King Dutugemunu (161-137 B.C.) of Anuradhapura .
