B aker's Ella Falls (Sinhala: බේකර්ස් ඇල්ල) is a waterfall located in Horton Plains National Park in Nuwara Eliya District, Sri lanka. The fall is 20.31 m (66.63 ft.) tall and formed by Belihul Oya, a tributary of the Walawe Ganga River (Abeywardana, 2004; Kautzsch, 1983). Rated as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country, the fall is popular among visitors for the diverse but attractive views it offers to viewers from different sides and angles (Rathnayake, 2015). The fall is named after Sir Samuel Baker (b.1821-d.1893), a well-known British explorer and hunter. The waters of the fall plunge over a wide black rock down into a gorge amid many Rhododendron and Fern bushes (Kautzsch, 1983). Baker's Loop, the hiking trail where the fall can be seen is a circular trail from the park's entrance to World's End. The site is not suitable for bathing.
