Sri Saddharmagupta Piriven Viharaya (Dombawala)

Saddharmagupta Piriven Viharaya is a Buddhist temple in Dombawala village. The old library of this temple preserves a valuable Ola-leaf manuscripts.

Sri Saddharmagupta Piriven Viharaya (Sinhala: දොඹවල ශ්‍රී සද්ධර්මගුප්ත පිරිවෙන් විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in the village of Dombawala in Gampaha District, Sri Lanka. The temple can be reached by traveling along the Udugampola-Divulapitiya road about 700 m distance from the Udugampola roundabout.

A Stupa, an image house, a Bodhi Tree, a preaching hall, a library building and Bhikku dwellings are found on the temple premises. Among them, the old library building is considered important and it was conserved in 2010 by the Archaeological Department. It holds a large number of valuable Ola-leaf manuscripts and about 175 of them were indexed by the Archaeological Department during the period of 2014-2015.
