Ransimalaka

Ransimalaka or Ramsimalaka (Sinhala: රංසිමාලකය) is a ruined building located in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is situated between the Ruwanweliseya Stupa and Sri Maha Bodhi and to the west of the Lovamahapaya.

Ransimalakaya was the assembly hall of the monks of the Maha Viharaya (Wikramagamage, 2004).

The building is rectangular in shape and has four entrances on each side (Bandaranayake, 1974). It measures about 83 ft. by 64 ft. and the remaining pillar bases indicate that there were 80 stone columns standing in the building (Bandaranayake, 1974). The structure was unearthed in 1961 and systematic excavations were started in 1963 (Wijayapala, 1990).

රංසිමාලකය යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ අනුරාධපුර පුරාණ නගරයේ රුවන්වැලිසෑය හා ශ්‍රී මහා බෝධිය අතර ලෝවාමහාපායට බටහිර දිශාවෙන් පිහිටි නටඹුන් ගොඩනැගිල්ලකි. එය අතීතයේදී මහා විහාර භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලාගේ රැස්වීම් ශාලාව වශයෙන් ප්‍රයෝජනයට ගෙන තිබෙයි.

සෘජුකෝණාස්‍රාකාර හැඩැති ගොඩනැගිල්ලට ඇතුළුවීම පිණිස එක් එක් පසින් වූ ප්‍රවිශ්ඨයන් හතරක් වේ. අඩි 83ක් දිගැති හා අඩි 64ක් පළලැති ගොඩනැගිල්ල තුල ගල් කණු 80ක ප්‍රමාණයක් පැවති බවට සාධක පවතී.
