Shrine of Our Lady of Matara
Shrine of Our Lady of Matara is a Roman Catholic church devoted to the Virgin Mary in Matara, Sri Lanka. It is famous for the annual Feast of Our Lady held in September each year (Abeyawardana, 2004; Bohingamuwa, 2005).

History
This church is said to have been erected in 1908 (Abeyawardana, 2004; Bohingamuwa, 2005).

The building
The walls as well as the foundation of the church are believed to be built of limestone (Bohingamuwa, 2005). The roof is covered with Calicut tiles. The doors are built of timber while the windows are of timber and stained glass (Bohingamuwa, 2005).
