Kotugodella Raja Maha Viharaya (Sinhala: කොටුගොඩැල්ල රජමහා විහාරය) is a Buddhist temple situated in Kotugodella in Kandy District, Sri Lanka.
History
It is said that when King Sri Vikrama Rajasinghe (1798-1815 A.D.) converted the Tigolwela field to a tank, the temple located to the west of Lankatilaka Viharaya in Udunuwara got submerged (Abeyawardana, 2004). As a memory of this submerged temple, the present temple was constructed by the king in a land owned by Kotugodelle Adhikaram (Abeyawardana, 2004).
