Watagedara Vishrama Salawa (also called by some as Watagedara Ambalama) is an old pilgrim rest located in Watagedara village in Matara District, Sri Lanka.

History
This pilgrim rest can be identified as an Ambalama, a traditional resting place built by locals in ancient times to accommodate wayfarers who were travelling to distant places. They were also used as a place for people to gather, hold meetings and serve as a public place in society. During the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, Ambalamas were spread all over the country.

The structure
The pilgrim rest is a brick and mortar building similar to a small house.
