Hanthana International Bird Park & Recreation Center (Sinhala: හන්තාන කුරුලු උයන) is an international bird park and eco-tourism zone established in Hanthana in Kandy District, Sri Lanka. It is considered the first migratory bird park established in the country.
The park is said to have been established at a cost of Rs. 490 million after a study of non-endemic birds in Sri Lanka over a period of 40 years. It was declared open on 20 February 2023 by Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and opened to the public on 23 February.
Located near the Hantana Tea Museum premises, the park extends in an area of about 27 acres. The site consists of a unit for breeding and exporting foreign birds, an educational training centre for animal science students, a bird orphanage, a bird shelter, a quarantine unit and other facilities for local and foreign tourists to watch birds.
