Pedro Bungalow | Plantation House of Pedro Estate

Pedro Bungalow, also known as Peduru Bungalow (Sinhala: නුවරඑළිය පේදුරු බංගලාව), is a plantation house located a few kilometres away in the northeast of Nuwara Eliya town, Sri Lanka.

History
Pedro Estate is notable for producing branded varieties of tea such as Lovers Leap and Mahagastota (Abeyawardana, 2004) Presently, Pedro Bungalow is the residence of the planter in charge of the Pedro Estate (Abeyawardana, 2004). The history of this bungalow can be dated back to 1885 although it has been altered several times later such as the changes done in 1930 (Abeyawardana, 2004).

The bungalow
The bungalow built according to British architecture consists of office and sitting rooms, dining and bedrooms and reception rooms. Some of them are equipped with fireplaces to control the chill (Abeyawardana, 2004).
