Hathmale Ella Falls, also known as Sathmahal Ella (Sinhala: හත්මලේ ඇල්ල, සත්මහල් ඇල්ල), is a waterfall close to Kolavenigama village near Deniyaya in Matara District, Sri Lanka. Created by the Gin Ganga River, the fall is about 45 m high and is the tallest of the river.
According to locals, the name Hathmale means seven segments or seven necklaces. It is said that there was a cluster of seven individual falls at this site but only five are visible today. Two of the falls are said to have disappeared during recent spells of flooding.
The main waterfall area is not suitable for bathing and some safer bathing areas are located more downstream of the fall.
