Thimbiri Pokuna (Sinhala: තිඹිරි පොකුණ) is an old pond located on the premises of the ancient monastery of Jetavanaramaya.
The pond was recorded in 1893 by H.C.P. Bell (b.1851-d.1937), the first Commissioner of Archaeology in Sri Lanka. The first archaeological excavation was carried out at the site between 1995-1998 with funds from the Central Cultural Fund. In 2001, parts of a standing Buddha statue of dolomite were discovered close to the western side of the pond

The rectangular-shaped pond is about 99 m long and 30 m wide and is considered the largest pond found within the complex. Roughly circular-faced medium-size stones have been used to construct the pond.
