Balaharuwa Wewa |
Balaharuwa Wewa (Sinhala: බලහරුව වැව) is a medium reservoir situated in Balaharuwa village in Monaragala District, Sri Lanka.
History
The breached tank was restored in 1956 (Arumugam, 1969).
The Reservoir
Located within the Kirindi Oya River Basin, the reservoir bund is about 4,200 ft. long and the water extends in an area of about 130 acres at its full supply level (Arumugam, 1969). It has two spills and one sluice (Arumugam, 1969). The catchment area of the reservoir is 2310 ha.
