Diyathiri Ella Falls

Not to be confused with Diyavini Ella Falls

Diyathiri Ella Falls
Diyathiri Ella Falls, also known as Dethiri Ella Falls (Sinhala: දියතිරි ඇල්ල, දේතිරි ඇල්ල), is about 30 m (98.42 ft.) high waterfall situated near Lewdeniya village in Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka (Kautzsch, 1983). It is located on the wayside of Nawalapitiya-Dolosbage Road near the junction to Meenagalla Estate.

The fall is created by the waters of a tributary of Maha Oya Stream which flows into the Indian Ocean at Kochchikade town near Negombo. The waters plunge from a cliff on the northwest flank of Mountain Gentry Box East (Kautzsch, 1983).
