Helboda Ella Falls

Helboda Ella Falls (Sinhala: හෙල්බොඩ ඇල්ල) is a minor waterfall situated east of Pussellawa town in Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka. The falls can be seen from Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road (A5) close to bridge 44/1 between mileposts 28 and 29 below Hellbodde Estate (Kautzsch, 1983). There is a general misunderstanding between the Helboda Ella Falls and the Delta Ella Falls which is located nearby.

The fall is created by the Helboda Oya, a tributary of Kotmale Oya (Abeyawardana, 2004). It is 5 m in height and cascades in two sections (Abeyawardana, 2004). There are more small waterfalls close to the Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road particularly during or after the rainy season and most of them lack any special name (Kautzsch, 1983).
