Delta Ella Falls (Sinhala: ඩෙල්ටා ඇල්ල) is a waterfall located about 5 km east of Pussellawa in Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka. Situated along the Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road (A5) near bridge 41/5 at km post 41, the fall is created by a tributary of the Kotmale Oya.
The Falls
Standing at a height of about 60 meters, the fall rushes over six cascades, culminating in a pool surrounded by rugged rocks (Kautzsch, 1983). People around the area call this waterfall Helboda Ella which is actually a 5 m high waterfall located nearby (Kautzsch, 1983).
The surrounding region, particularly along the Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road, is known for hosting several waterfalls, especially during or after the rainy season (Kautzsch, 1983). Many of these smaller falls do not have specific names but contribute to the overall beauty of the area.
