Delta Ella Falls

Delta Ella Falls
Delta Ella Falls (Sinhala: ඩෙල්ටා ඇල්ල) is a waterfall about 5 km east of Pussellawa in Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka. It is located on Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road (A5) close to bridge 41/5 at km post 41 (Kautzsch, 1983).

Created by a tributary of the Kotmale Oya, the fall rushes over 6 cascades into a broad pool surrounded by rocks (Kautzsch, 1983). It is about 60 m in height (Kautzsch, 1983). People around the area call this waterfall Helboda Ella which is actually a 5 m high waterfall located nearby (Kautzsch, 1983). There are more small waterfalls close to the Gampola-Nuwara Eliya road particularly during or after the rainy season and most of them lack any special name (Kautzsch, 1983).
