Victoria Randenigala Rantembe Sanctuary
Victoria Randenigala Rantembe Sanctuary (Sinhala: වික්ටෝරියා රන්දෙණිගල රන්ටැඹේ අභයභූමිය) is one of the Sanctuaries in Sri Lanka. It extends along the Mahaweli Ganga River between Kandy and the Minipe anicut within the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Badulla.

Two major hydropower and storage reservoirs named Victoria and Randenigala are located on the Mahaweli Ganga in the middle of the sanctuary. Besides that, two small reservoirs, Rantembe and Lower Uma Oya are also within the boundary of the sanctuary.

History
The area was declared a sanctuary on 30 January 1987 (Green, 1990). It was placed under the management of the Mahaweli Authority in 1979 (Green, 1990).

Physical features & Climate
Located within the Intermediate climate zone, the total area of the sanctuary is 42,087 ha (Green, 1990). The vegetation represents a transition between those of wet and dry zones (Green, 1990). The central part contains dry mixed evergreen forest (Green, 1990).
