Lipton's Seat (Dambetenna)

Lipton's Seat
Lipton's Seat (Sinhala: ලිප්ටන් අසුන) is a high observation point at Dambetenna in Poonagala Hills in Haputale, Sri Lanka. It is also near the Dambatenne Tea Factory in Bandarawela.

The viewpoint has been named after the tea magnate Thomas Lipton (1848-1931), a Scottish man who founded "Lipton Tea". Thomas built his first tea factory in Sri Lanka at Dambetenna in 1890 which is still in operation today. Thomas is said to have used this place to observe his properties and enjoy the aerial view of the surrounding area.

The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside as far as the sea on clear days.
